about

If I Only Knew is one of those songs that has been written for years. When it finally came tot choosing songs for this release. I love this song. There's a shofar in it and for those who are not familiar, that's usually the horn of the mountain Ibex which live in the rocky clefts throughout the land of Israel. This is the "trumpet" that the scriptures speak of. One of the greatest nights of making this album was the one in which the body of this song was tracked. I was with Michael McDonald at his SynthArts studio and we had wasted most of the session just doing life. We had talked about faith and love and devotion and church for something like 5 hours. Finally I was like, "maybe we should call it a night," to which Michael replied, "why don't we just try and track something real quick." A few hours later we had basically what you hear in this recording. The song had taken a totally new direction from what was originally a more country feeling song. We both agreed that this was a far better version. As I drove home with the cd of the session in my car, I heard what this song really was about, the majesty of God in contrast with how small we are. These two ideas when combined magnify the idea of how much love is at work in the relationship that He has invited into. This is the place from which worship springs up.

"To beautiful to let you go, Most High who am I to touch your throne, to bright sometimes I cannot see, my righteousness that you are for me."

about

Joshua Rosen Eugene

My context is that we have a maker who is endless, matchless and thus worthy of praise. I am not a product of my own doing. I believe in Yeshua, the messiah and savior of the human race and that He, along with the Father and the Spirit first loved us. The promise is for eternal life apart from the consequence of sin. To know Him is the reward, and I hold that this is life in its fullest iteration. ... more
